How it works

A text in. A coin out.

Every text maps to one thing: a wallet made, a coin created on pump.fun, a buy, a sell, a transfer. The phone is just where you ask, and where the answer lands.

The number

An ordinary phone number.

+1 (857) 294-3858 is a real SIM in an Android phone we run, connected to an SMS gateway. Your text reaches it like any other text. A worker reads what arrives every couple of seconds, answers through the same phone, and keeps a record so each text is answered exactly once.

Nothing has to install anything. iPhone, Android or a flip phone; Wi-Fi or not. If it can text a US number, it can launch a coin.

Your wallet

Made for your number.

Text Pad
START
You're in. Your Solana wallet is ready (address in the next text).

The first time you text START, a Solana keypair is made for your number. Its address is texted to you on its own; its secret key is sealed the same instant and never leaves the server except to you, on a one-time link, when you ask.

Your number can hold up to 10 wallets. NEW makes another, USE switches between them, and every launch, buy and sell comes from the one in use. A deposit to any of them gets a text within about 20 seconds.

A launch

pump.fun's own create, in one transaction.

A launch is a few questions (name, ticker, picture, description, links, a first buy) and a summary with a code. When the code comes back, Text Pad writes the coin's metadata in pump.fun's own format, builds pump.fun's create_v2 and, if you asked, its buy_v2 for your first buy, and puts both in one transaction.

That transaction is simulated against mainnet before it's signed. If it would fail, it isn't sent, it costs nothing, and the reply says why. Once it lands, the coin's bonding curve is read back from chain and checked to name your wallet as creator. Then you get the link.

what one launch sends
create_v2 name, ticker, metadata uri, creator = your wallet
buy_v2 your first buy, max cost = buy + slippage # optional
both in one transaction: nobody buys in between

Your wallet is the coin's creator on pump.fun, so the creator fees from every trade are yours (FEES, CLAIM). Pair it with SOL, or anything pump.fun quotes: USDC, tokenized stocks, majors.

Codes

Two texts for anything that moves money.

Text Pad
WITHDRAW 0.5 7xKX...gAsU
Send 0.5 SOL to 7xKX...gAsU? This can't be undone. Reply 4821 to confirm, or CANCEL.
4821
Sent 0.5 SOL to 7xKX...gAsU. solscan.io/tx/4fZ...

Launches, buys, sells, withdrawals and key exports all go the same way: you ask, we answer with exactly what will happen and a 4-digit code, and nothing happens until the code comes back.

The code is what makes a text safe to act on. The sender of a text can be faked; a faker never receives our reply, so they never see the code. Codes work once, for 10 minutes; 3 wrong tries cancel the request; and only the newest request is ever waiting.

Custody

Built for real money.

  • Sealed keys. Each secret key is encrypted with AES-256-GCM the moment it's made, with the wallet's address bound in, under a key that lives only in the server's environment. A copy of the database alone opens nothing.
  • Allow-listed signing. Before anything is signed, every instruction is checked: compute budget, pump.fun, token accounts, or a CloseAccount that pays the wallet back. A transfer out is allowed only on the withdrawal path, after the code.
  • Never by text. Your key is shown once, on a link that works for 10 minutes and opens on a button press, so a phone's link preview can't use it up.
  • Exportable any time. It's an ordinary Solana wallet. Import the key into Phantom, Solflare or Backpack and it's yours there too.
  • STOP means stop. Texting STOP ends all texts at once. Your wallets and funds stay exactly where they are; START brings them back.

Text Pad is custodial while your funds sit in a Text Pad wallet: we hold a key so we can act on your texts. Keep what you're using there, and move the rest out. The details are in the docs.

Fees

Text Pad adds nothing.

  • Launch: about 0.006 SOL of Solana rent and network fees; about 0.009 SOL plus the buy with a first buy.
  • Trades: pump.fun's own fee, 1.25% today, part of which goes to the coin's creator.
  • Withdrawals: the Solana network fee, a fraction of a cent.
  • Texts: your carrier's normal messaging rates.
Under the hood

Boring on purpose.

  1. Your text reaches the gateway phone. The worker reads it within a couple of seconds and claims it by id, so it's answered once.
  2. Your texts are handled in order; other people's alongside. A launch's reply always comes before the answer to your next text.
  3. Money moves wait on a code. Launch drafts wait up to a day, so you can fund a wallet and come back with GO.
  4. Every transaction is built by Text Pad, checked against the allow-list, simulated, signed, sent, and confirmed by reading the chain.
  5. A launch left unconfirmed by a restart or a timeout is settled from the chain by the worker, and you're texted the moment it's live.
