Questions from the thread.
Is this an app?
It's a phone number first. You text START to +1 (857) 294-3858 and the rest happens by text. There's a web app for the things a screen does better (uploading art, picking a pair, your history), and you sign into it by texting APP. There is no password; your phone number is the account.
What do I get when I text START?
A Solana wallet made for your number, its address in a text of its own so it's easy to copy, and a short how-to. You can have up to ten wallets on one number.
Are these real pump.fun coins?
Yes. A launch is pump.fun's own create instruction, signed by your wallet, so your wallet is the coin's creator on pump.fun and earns its creator fees. Text Pad is a way to reach pump.fun, not a launchpad of its own.
What does it cost?
Text Pad adds no fee. A launch costs about 0.006 SOL in Solana rent and network fees, or about 0.009 SOL plus the buy with a first buy. pump.fun charges its own fee on every trade (1.25% today). Your carrier's normal messaging rates apply.
Which phones work?
Any phone that can text a US number. iPhone, Android, a flip phone. Pictures go by link because the number is SMS only.
How long does a launch take?
From the code to live on pump.fun is usually 10 to 30 seconds. We text you the pump.fun link and the coin's address the moment it's on chain.
Can someone buy before me?
No. Your first buy goes in the same transaction as the create, so the coin and your buy land together.
How do I add a picture?
Send a link to an image, or to a post on X, TikTok or Instagram and we take its picture. Or reply PIC for an upload link to use one from your camera roll. Or SKIP and we make one: your ticker in our glass bubble.
Can I pair with something other than SOL?
Yes, with anything pump.fun quotes a curve in: USDC, tokenized stocks like TSLAx and NVDAx, majors and memecoins. Add Pair: USDC to a one-text launch, or EDIT then PAIR at the summary.
What happens if a launch fails?
We simulate every transaction before sending it, so most failures cost nothing and come back with the reason. Your answers are kept: fix the problem and reply GO.
Who holds the keys?
Text Pad keeps a key for each wallet, sealed with AES-256-GCM, so it can sign the launches and trades you ask for by text. You can export any key at any time and take the wallet to Phantom, Solflare or Backpack.
What if someone texts from my number?
Phone numbers can be spoofed when sending, but a spoofer never receives our replies. Every money move waits for a 4-digit code we text back, codes last 10 minutes, and 3 wrong tries cancel the request.
What if I lose my phone or number?
Export your keys while you have it (EXPORT), or withdraw. If your number moves to a new SIM with the same carrier, it keeps working. A number that's been reassigned to someone else would let them request codes, so don't leave funds on a number you're giving up.
Can Text Pad move my money?
The signer only signs what Text Pad builds: pump.fun instructions, token accounts, and a withdrawal you confirmed with a code. Anything else is refused before it's signed.
Is any of this financial advice?
No. Memecoins usually go to zero. Only put in what you can lose.
